Planned Improv

If you subscribe to Simply Moderne and read magazine issue 5 you might have spotted the scrumptious new design by Krista Hennebury (she of Chess on the Steps and Improv Under the Influence fame) using ALL the Oakshott Colourshott range.

We are lucky enough to be selling the kit for this beauty, called Variegated Threads:

and if you need any more inspiration then have a read of Krista’s blog on the development of this piece – and how flexible it is (make a runner, make it bigger and smaller, have fun with the background). Most of all, it is a great introduction to improv techniques.

If you go to the Festival of Quilts on 11-14 August at the NEC, you’ll be able to actually see it up close on stand G21 (with Pinwheels).

Colours Crossing

Thanks to Nancy in the USA for sending us a photo of her finished Colors Crossing quilt showing her great use of

reds and blues from the last holiday sale.

and thanks for saying:

I love your fabric!

We can’t wait to see what Nancy is going to do with the Forest Fruits Pack she ordered!

Crepuscular bloghop

The Little Red Hen has combined the Lipari Fat Eighths pack with 18 colours from a Colourshott 31-57 Fat Eighths pack – which have given the project quite a ‘wow’ colour spectrum:

“You really must see this fabric in person to fully appreciate its beauty. It is very difficult to capture with a camera.”

and if you go to the blog you’ll see some great close-ups of the quilting and pattern.

Don't let the grass grow

It was a trip to Ireland – the Emerald Isle – that inspired Johnny Cash’s song Forty Shades of Green. From subtle teals to more acidic shades, our Offers of the Week depict the sheer breadth of greens in nature.
You can SAVE 15% when you order these greens before Thursday 19 May, 9am UK time

Placing red and blue

Thanks to Nancy Feve for a look-in to her creative process. She took advantage of an Oakshott sale of packs in reds and blues and here is her colour placement sample, yet to be quilted (we look forward to the next instalment).

Don’t those colours shine?
